Hot-air balloons in the Saint James’ gardens

Written by james, the 21 June in category What’s up?, 5 comments

In reference to Paris’ first airfield that was located right on the grounds of the Saint James before the mansion was built, Bambi Sloan installed incredible hot-air balloons and 1900 glass houses in the gardens. The crazy-chic style she imagined for the inside of the building invaded the private gardens of the Saint James Paris to create Paris’ most unique terrace.
You can now access the terrace of the Saint James without being a member of the Saint James’ Club, Mondays to Saturdays from 7:00pm and on Sundays for the brunch from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Le nouveau Saint James dans Elle Déco !

Written by jamie, the 09 May in category What’s up?, 0 comment

A crazy chic state of mind! Elle Decoration reveals the spirit of the new Saint James after its makeover by the dream-maker Bambi Sloan.

Here are a few extracts:
“[...] here it is, ever so sprightly and somewhat cheeky, repainted from floor to ceiling, bedecked in wacky Napoleon III finery where velvet, draperies, gold and cashmere blend into a most intense pop-art vortex.
[...] the colours are everywhere, yet it begins with black and white on the elegant balusters in the lobby’s great staircase.
[...] The main lounge, facing the entrance, is capped with an avalanche of chandeliers which Bambi calls her “chaos of lights”.

Well, it seems that a new host has just been charmed by our warm and welcoming atmosphere. You may see him on the terrace or nonchalantly pass through the lobby. His name is Pilou, don’t forget to pet him!

When arriving at the Saint James, you will be greeted by 2 large sculptures on each side of the garden. “Time Encounter” and “Space-Time” have been imagined by the Parisian sculptor Nathalie Decoster. In the lobby, you will discover “Time goes By”. Nathalie Decoster‘s main thoughts are about ”Human condition”, “The relationship between man and time”, “Ways of sharing ideas”, “Human fragility”, etc… Each of her sculptures presents her famous “messenger”, in which we can recognize ourselves and think about what Nathalie Decoster calls “the absurdity of our modem way of life”. A possible access to wisdom and serenity, for you to see at the Saint James. More info on www.nathaliedecoster.com
